Holley Gerth Offers Encouragement in Hope Your Heart Needs

...notes from the back of the book....

Understanding more of God's character and how he loves us changed bestselling author Holley Gerth's life in beautiful, powerful ways. She realized that she didn't have to settle for "I'm fine" when there was someone whispering to her in every moment, "You're mine." The hope, joy, peace, and purpose she longed for were already there, in the heart of God.

Now in 52 devotional readings, Holley shares with women the answer to the restlessness they feel in their hearts that keeps them hurrying, striving, pushing. She shows them that "the God who scattered stars like diamonds across the velvet of the universe, the keeper of every sparrow, the maker of us all, is inviting us to draw closer to him. He is the place where our hearts can go on the hard days and the happy ones, in the highs and lows, when we are sad or frustrated or downright giddy. He is what we've been searching for all along."

...notes from my journal...

Wow!  In 52 ways Holley Gerth has written a devotional to cover many topics that face us today.   Honestly, this book has earned a home on my bookshelf for a long time coming.  The messages are timely, and hit the target.  This inspirational book could be read cover to cover. It can be studied as a day by day devotional.  However, when I got this book in my hands, I looked up a topic you that called me and from there, the rest has been a pleasant journey.

Holley's style of writing and the encouragement she gives.  Her down to earth style makes her feel like you have just sat down with a friend to discuss God's encouraging words.   The format of this book is just right for someone who wants to pack inspiration into their tote to be pulled out for quiet moments in the day.  It is a treasure trove of God's word and how they apply to our modern day lives.  I was given my copy as a gift with an option to write a review or not, from Revell.   I had to share my thoughts as this book is too good to keep to myself.

You're Loved No Matter What - Inspiration from Holley Gerth

If you are like me you work hard to be perfect in every way. Life can be a challenge and we women are busy trying to please our families, our friends, our coworkers and most everyone we come in contact with. I found a lot of encouragement in Holley's latest book You're Loved No Matter What; encouragement that makes me feel like I can forgive myself for not being perfect. It is just not how we were created to be. We are made to be loved unconditionally by God who forgives us as only He can as our heavenly Father.
Don't we all need to know this is true? I can't count how many times I have said if only I worked harder, looked thinner or was better than I was last week my life would be perfect. If only my life were perfect I would achieve perfection all of the above wouldn't be a problem. The problem is forgetting that I am loved already for who I am not an unrealistic earthly goal. I have been reminding myself to ease up and remember that I am loved for myself since starting this book and I have to share that it has been an aha experience for me.                                                                                                    Holley's book can be read straight through or in pieces to study. However you choose to read it, know that she is like having your good friend sitting across your table sharing a cup of coffee. Strategies and tips are available within the book that help you let go of perfection in different areas of your life. If you lead a women's study group there are discussion questions in the Go Deeper Guide at the back of the book for your group.                                                                                                                  p.s. If you’ve ever struggled with feeling like you need to be perfect, my friend Holley Gerth’s new book will encourage you. You’re Loved No Matter What: Freeing Your Heart from the Need to Be Perfect.

You're Going to Be Okay an Encouraging book for All Women

You're Going to Be Okay Cover
I am happy to review Holley Gerth's latest book, You're going to Be Okay. This book is well written with simple affirmations for every woman. Easy to implement strategies to help us all find God in our chaotic daily lives.

So often we are mired in the depths of our weakest moments. We know the mind is powerful yet we do not guard our hearts from the negative thoughts that overtake our common sense. When we turn to God and feel His amazing love for us in all situations we will find healing. We can stop sabotaging ourselves, change our attitudes and make the most of our changes. How often do we tell ourselves so many negative things that we become small minded? We are made to be loved and to love.

I liked having the questions for deeper study at the end of the book. Listed by chapter, this easy to follow guide is a good tool and easy reference to putting Holley's lessons into practice.  We are all made for a purpose and my purpose is not tied to the negative thoughts that can try to intrude my mind. How freeing to push such thoughts aside and find peace with a guarded heart.
